Live Music
Saturday Live Music Line-up
Joe Pye & The Weeds
After storming our May Event Joe Pye will be back and aren’t pulling any punches. They’ll be pulling out some new Vdub inspired tunes especially for the event!
Colt 45

Colt 45 are a successful local Rock Band thrilling audiences in Pubs, Festivals, Private Functions and their own Theatre Concerts with their energetic live performances of all the favourite rock songs from bands such as Guns and Roses, Led Zeppelin, Queen, AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Green Day and many others. They have received excellent reviews in the local press and on local radio with their own original material.
Since forming in summer 2008, Colt 45 have performed over 70 events including Weymouth Beach Live, Two nights at The 2009 Great Dorset Steam Fair, Dorchester Stadium with the Bay City Rollers, Damerham Music Festival, Fordingbridge Music Festival and the Verwood Hub. They also have regular slots at many pubs across the local area and in hot demand for private functions.
2010 kicked off with their own theatre gig at the Verwood Hub which attracted the attention of the music industry resulting in a £150,000 recording deal with platinum selling producers Red Triangle Productions. The reviews that they received from both the fan base and professionals in the music business were fantastic. One quoted Colt 45 as the “Next Big thing” and other just quoted “Bloody Awesome!”
The band are delighted to be returning to Vdub again for another night of rock!
1914s

It really cuts a sharp line having three artists in a row, dancing cheek-to-cheek and toe-to-toe.
All of the 1914’s can boast an impressive support list, both in the UK and overseas. These include Florence and the machine, Glasvegas, the Brut Chorus, the Rakes and Hawkwind amongst others.
They call it 80’s futurism like Joy Division, Blondie, Adam Ant and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Sparks after the blackout, incendiary flares and 1914’s.
Icarus Falling

Uncle Pablo’s Magic Potion

Al Pablo’s Psychedelic Pop-Rock machine will once again perform VDub At The Pub! They went down a treat last year and they’re back float to you right through their afternoon slot with their brand of Garage Rock. Fans of Hawkwind, The Pink Fairies and even some of The Beatles trippier moments will dig these guys. – www.myspace.com/unclepablosmagicpotion
The Home Remedies
Vdub At The Pub can cure all your ills with a new band signed up to play on Saturday. The Home Remedies are an exciting mix of rock, blues & indie….
Constellation
We’re very happy to report that Constellation will be returning this Summer! They played a blinder at our May event and we’re sure they’re going to turn it our again!
“Jason and Josh met at the age of 12 and have been friends since 1998, learning guitar together and playing in their early teens under the name Breed Euphonics. They both studied the BTEC National Diploma course in Music Technology at Bournemouth and Poole College, where they met the talented young guitarist, Martin. The three friends formed an acoustic band, Joshua Tree, performing songs similar in style to those of Jack Johnson and written by Josh, the poet of the outfit, who had channelled his creative energy into producing some outstanding original material.”-www.constellationonline.co.uk
State Of Undress

‘ …Overflowing with spirit and a compelling energy … a performance that marries verve, power and a lung-busting joie de vivre … the accompanying blend of roots-rock, country, Celtic flavourings and a full-bodied melodic musical assault creates a powerful live combination …’ R2 Rock’n'Reel magazine
We can’t wait for these guys!! State of Undress are booked for Saturday and we’re sure they’ll get us in the mood for a party.
Sunday Live Music Line-up
Vdub At The Pub & Dorset Rock Online
![]()
Vdub At The Pub has teamed up with Dorset Rock Online this year to provide you with some rocking tunes in our live music tent for Sunday of the two day event. Dorset Rock Online is the county’s premier online resource for all things rock! We’ll be working hard together to pull in some of the regions best performers for you this year!
Voodoo Vegas

Our headliners of the day, Voodoo Vegas probably need no introduction. Surely one of Dorset’s hardest working bands and one that has been met with gear endorsements, performances to crowds of thousands, European tours and overwhelming local support. It’s local hard rock at it’s best. If you’ve not heard or seen Voodoo Vegas before this is your best opportunity to do so, especially if you’re a fan of Aerosmith, AC/DC, Bon Jovi or Guns ‘n’ Roses. – www.voodoovegas.com
The Neon Tigers

Born from the ashes of local hard rock band Clams, The Neon Tigers bring a little more flamboyance to their piano driven rock ‘n’ roll. Think early Elton John, T-Rex, Queen and Led Zeppelin.
“Balancing poppy hooks with a rock ‘n’ roll sound is a winning formula and The Neon Tigers have nailed it. (Their song) Out Of Control is going to divide crowds for sure, but the only decision you must make if you find yourself in this fortunate position is whether to rock out or throw some shapes.” – www.myspace.com/theneontigers
Western Sand

“Where classic rock inspired local heroes Voodoo Vegas draw much inspiration from middle America, Western Sand get off the train a little further south and they have a dirtier, heavier sound for it.”
“Ballsy, bluesy, hard rock ‘n’ roll just about sums up their sound. Covers such as Mountain’s Mississipi Queen and Aerosmith’s Mama Kin re-enforce their inspiration and fit perfectly into their repertoire. Western Sand’s own material has a little more Black Label Society and Black Stone Cherry to it.” – www.myspace.com/westernsand
The Sabres

Despite being formed a little over six months ago, The Sabres already have a pro sounding EP under their belt. It’s clear that these guys mean business. We’ve yet to see what these boys can do on stage but when the band feature ex members of Hoffman Sloth and Silversweet, you know they’ve got the experience to pull it off. Think AC/DC meets Bad Religion and The Wildhearts. – www.thesabres.co.uk
The Otherhalf

Another one of Dorset’s finest and must see for Indie Rock fans. “The release of Emergency probably puts The Otherhalf right up there as one of the most relevant bands in Dorset. I can imagine this being played on Radio 1 and not sounding out of place sound wise or quality wise.” ”This song is a real anthem that brings to mind bands like Lostprophets, The Automatic and Biffy Clyro.” Fans of The Killers and The Libertines will also find there’s much to like about these guys. – www.myspace.com/theofficialotherhalf
C-30s

Punk Rockers C-30s are veterans of the local live scene and their debut album Help Point is already receiving positive reviews. The album opener Beachbum Baby received a Track of the Week award from us at Dorset Rock Online and here’s what we said. “Andy Nazer and Co have injected just enough of that radio friendly melody that bands such as the Foo Fighters are renowned for, to make it appeal to more than just fans of The New York Dolls and similar bands of that era. The result is a fast paced Punk Rock ‘n’ Roll blitz with anthemic sing along potential.” – www.myspace.com/thec30s
Si Genaro

Si Genaro won’t just be performing an acoustic set on the Sunday, he’ll also be our compere for the day; introducing the bands and making sure you’re all having a good time. “He has been on the music scene for 10 years, has gigged all around the country (and indeed the world!) and people seem to like him… Based in Bournemouth he dabbles with London from time to time; has played Glastonbury Festival amongst countless others, has hosted and played great venues such as the Shepherds Bush Empire, the Mean Fiddler, ULU and is much in demand as a performer and compere! His warm and friendly style gets the crowd on his side within seconds and he often gets people dancing like crazy things even when it’s just him and his battered old acoustic guitar!” – www.myspace.com/sigenaro
Mischa

Mischa is a solo acoustic artists who can do more than just hold his own against full bands. Bringing influences from Folk, Blues, Funk and Rock; fans of Newton Faulkner and Frank Turner will not be disappointed.
We had this to say about Mischa performing at the Dorset Music Awards semi finals – “Solo songwriter (the last one left in the competition) Mischa had the unenviable job of opening up to a packed out venue. Pulling out all the emotional stops, he played an excellent set that got the crowd going in a way that I thought wouldn’t be possible for a dude with just his acoustic and one hell of a fantastic voice. If you haven’t had the chance to see him, I suggest you do so soon!” - www.myspace.com/mischamusicplace
